R: Got home and picked up the overnighted package promised to me at the front desk. I immediately opened it not because the information enclosed is pressing and important to my life as a full-fledged, self-sufficient adult, but because I wanted to check if I was right and G really was calling me "Lisa" over the phone.

Yup.

On another note, I just got back from a very interesting dinner and discussion group with some highly-unlikely - for me - company. I don't know that I'll go back for this biweekly event but I did enjoy the chance topic of creativity, and it's probably healthy for me to at least try out these random socializing opportunities. Of course, I sadly did not take full advantage of my surroundings as my natural introvertedness took over tonight. Instead of meeting as many people as possible, I found myself obsessing over the real estate - a gorgeous loft-style apartment in the financial district purchased in the early nineties? As C would say: What a steal!

C: Ever since R's blog on Cafe Habana, I've been hankering for some Mexican elote. It did not even occur to me to expect it when my friends and I made plans to go to the South End's Toro. Sadly, El and K could not make it for various reasons, but Lina and I ordered plenty to make up for their absence. I'm really glad that I've gotten to reconnect with Lina since she returned to Boston, and everytime I hang out with her I am reminded of why I like her so much in the first place. A lot of people will brag about their food conquests but then--very disappointingly--turn out to be finicky eaters. Raised in a household that is heavily anchored by our love of food, I am overwhelming most appreciative of those friends that enjoy eating as much as my family does. Lina, you have my heart forever!

  1. I have not delivered on my promise to comment in excess! (Although I am a devoted follower) I so enjoy our chats together and hope there will be much more quality time to come :)

And in the immortal words of Bex, "I never met a food I didn't like."
