R: The Riisers and I went bowling tonight at the bowling lounge in Port Authority. I don't know what was sadder: the fact that I had the high score of 80 (I had two completely scoreless frames) or that the group of eight year olds next to us had higher scores than all of us.

C: On our way home, J-lal had the driver safely transport us across Ladi Kwali Way to the Arts & Crafts Village. I had a mission to obtain some larger masks than the three I bought two years ago (one to represent each main ethnic group - Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba). With his help and no thanks to my own befriending of the merchant, I manage to haggle two large (16-20in) masks down from 6000 to 5000 (she already had the lowest prices, dammit!). Had I not been afraid of running out of naira, I would have purchased a black/white piece from this guy. He had some of the nicest work, and I loved the overcrowded street full of buses and people that I immediately recognized as depicting Lagos. Maybe next time Hot Lips goes I can have her pick one up for me...
