R: One month after I ordered from them, Gilt Group decided to ship my dress. I had completely forgot that I bought it. Upon opening the package I was already debating whether I should return it. My original thought was that I could wear the dress to my friend C's wedding in May among other things. But then I thought, what other things?

I knew once I took the dress out it would be hard to part with it if it is in fact as pretty as online. It is. However, I thought it looked a little big on the hanger so I decided to try it on right away. Another trap I like to pretend I'm not falling into.

And...it fits...perfectly. So pretty, so expensive, so hard to say no. Feeling Gilty.

C: M took me on an impromptu date to go bowling. Perhaps I had one-too-many wins at "Words with Friends" on the iPhone/iPod Touch (I think he's won two of about ten against me), and he felt the need to redeem himself. Although I wasn't particularly enthused about the idea - I had two shots today for my trip to Nigeria - I went along with it because I could tell he really wanted to play. Despite having been formally instructed in piano for over a decade, I have not been able to master any game that requires hand-eye coordination (R often points out this paradox to me). Naturally, when I started kicking M's sorry arse at bowling, he was not very happy.

After a first miserable game (I usually suck, but M is typically a very good bowler), I started to have a somewhat better night, actually getting a few spares and only one gutter. On the other hand, M with his curve balls, back spins and fancy footwork couldn't seem to hit his regular game of spares and strikes. If this were any other person, I might think that he was letting me win. However, M is extraordinarily competitive and when it comes to playing against him, I am just another opponent. Not this time, M.

He quickly cleared the first game scores (it was 73-72), but I got a shot of the second game, just to prove that I beat him. Twice.
