R: I kind of got stressed out...and caved in to the golden arches.

C: I came across this scene while approaching my bus stop this morning. I often look at this sole pay-phone and wonder who actually uses them anymore. R and I just had a conversation about the over-saturation of communication nowadays, which inevitably led to a youtube link of Daft Punk's Technologic.

Per usual, I digress. I am fairly convinced that nearly every racial and ethnic group in the Boston area has a major gang/mob/crew/posse affiliated with it, and more than likely, these mobsters operate out of their central neighborhoods. Being in Washington Square, I naturally assume there is a mafia of Russian Jews running half of the businesses and taking bits out of the others.

Hence, the pay-phone. Brookline is a relatively affluent area with several businesses lining the main squares, so I really cannot imagine the need for one otherwise. I have only seen one person at this phone, and to protect names (and more importantly, myself) I will just say he is a local business owner with a weak command of the English language, despite having been here for over 40 years. Last time I saw him here, I was also waiting for the 65 bus to work, and this guy kept running back and forth to the phone (I assumed so he would look less suspicious than just waiting there) from his place of "business", sipping his Starbucks and nervously puffing away at his Parliament's (highly suspect, if you ask me). What could be so important before 8AM?
