Please excuse the cheater-mode. Our lives get busy, and sadly, the blog doesn't tend to fall on the top of our to-do lists...

05 Jun: In a bit of a Martha-mode, I decided it was time to use those pesky flat sheets that always end up bunched up at the end of the bed. Luckily, I have managed to acquire bed sheets only in varying black and white patterns, so the white trellis on black and black polka dots on white sheets worked very well together. Facing the patterned sides to one another, I sewed along the border of the two flat sheets, almost completely around. I left about three feet not sewed at the bottom, evenly spacing three buttons and corresponding button holes. The end result: an extra duvet cover! Very simple and very practical, no?

06 Jun: I almost always want to be a bum on Sundays. The weather has been rather temperamental lately, and this gave me a better excuse than ever to stay at home. Then M had a hankering for candy. It had been overcast earlier in the day, but the sun was currently shining, so I agreed to walk with him to the store in Cleveland Circle. Only a block and a half from the CVS, and we could see the sky blackening ahead.

"Belly of the beast," M kept saying. "We're headed straight into the storm."

He was right. Suddenly, we could see the rain coming down from the top of the hill, and we started running straight into the thick of it because we had no choice, no nearby refuge but our destination.

07 Jun: ...and the birthday excitement never ends! The patent grey Sperry's M got me for my birthday finally arrived. Aren't they swanky?

The best part just might be the fact that I can now match my padres...haha.

08 Jun: I can never sleep the few days leading up to travel or a big event. I woke up around 4AM this morning. When I finally decided that I wasn't going to fall asleep again, I rolled out of bed for some AM Yoga. Just as I was completing my final sunrise salutation, the sun peeked through the blinds to greet me back.

09 Jun: BOS to DFW.

10 Jun: When I got to Dallas, big D had plenty of more things to do before her and BM's wedding on Saturday. Poor M had been slaving away all week on projects, including these gift boxes. What the hell is the Wedding Coordinator being paid for anyway??

11 Jun: We made it to the rehearsal dinner without stabbing someone (read: the bride-to-be). Lots of small talk and schmoozing was well worth it - the Screen Door has some of the best damn fried chicken I've ever eaten. The mac 'n' cheese and sausages and gravy weren't bad either.
