R: I wonder why the Empire State Building is green today? Mysteries...

C: Sugarland and I took it upon ourselves to explore the Sheraton complex/"resort" after working today. We had already discovered the squash courts, the pool, conference halls, casino and various restaurants and bars. On our walk around the grounds, we found tennis courts, a dog kennel (very random), and even a sanded cabana area with a Tiki bar under construction. We even ventured beyond the hotel gates to get to the village arts & crafts shops - except we stopped when we realized that attempting to cross four lanes of unregulated rush hour traffic in Nigeria was a very bad idea.
Thankfully, J-lal took us out for dinner outside the confines of the hotel. We hitched a cab to a place about 10 minutes away. Called Yahuza Suya Spot (VIP), it is a hole-in-the-wall kind of place (J-lal insists that when he very first came to our program - 7 years ago or so - it really was a hole), but that was probably some of the best food I've had in Nigeria so far. I just hope I don't pay for it later...
