R: Due to the snow storm - yeah, it finally snowed - I got out of work at two o'clock this afternoon. I spent my unexpected mini vacay semi-productively (would have been more productive had the gym not closed at 1 p.m.) finishing Lolita and cleaning the apartment. However, spent a good chunk of it trying to take a picture of my hair. (Rather unsuccessfully I might add).
Why? Because I wanted to show off the cool stuff my new Aveda shampoo can do. I bought it a couple of weeks ago because I was tired of hairdressers accusing me of dying or highlighting my hair. It just naturally turns a reddish brown, no matter how little sun it actually sees during the year. (In the south, where sun is plentiful, my hair will eventually show hints of gold). Anyway, this shampoo is supposed to "discourage" red and brassy tones, while bringing out darker undertones. It works spendidly. Not really a striking difference, but I definitely see less red and hopefully with repeated regular use I'll cancel out the red altogether.
I know, lame joke. Seriously, though, it seems like New England was having a bit of an identity crisis because everyone and their mom (this was my eye doctor's office) either closed completely or early today. Some of those businesses and schools were posting their closings as early as 6PM last night. What was predicted to start overnight, had not even begun by the time I reached my office at 8AM. By 10AM it was flurrying, and the Immunology & Infectious Diseases Department was sending everyone home by noon. By the time I was home, a dusting of snow barely coated the sidewalks. The weather was much worse just a few weeks ago, when I had to schlep home through the slushy streets because my bus ran late by an hour. I've never seen so many people excited for a Nor'Easter.
that's not a great photo of your hair, but I sure have a good shot of something else!
ReplyDeleteHaha. Can't wait to see your monochromatic'd coiffure
