M and I were feeling beat by the heat and going stir crazy with not-so-efficent air conditioning. We decided to go on a spontaneous walk (in 100+ degree weather, of course) - started out in Washington Square, walking around Brookline, then ended up following the 86 Bus route all the way to Harvard Square. Exhausted by the time we reached Cambridge, we hopped the Red Line, hoping to avoid the Independence Day crowds that were sure to overtake the T within the next few hours. We did, however, catch a glimpse of the boats that scatter across the river every year...
