R: Q's last night in New York before she heads back east for Japan and then the Philippines. I wanted to be outside in the gorgeous weather this afternoon, so Q and I visited my favorite gelato shop in the West Village: L'Arte del Gelato. The perfect summer snack.

C: I had unofficially declared it my birthday as of 1419 on Monday (
based on being born at 0219 across the world), and then extending it through current EST to 0219 on Wednesday morning. This means that people had an extra 12 hours to get things to me on my birthday without being late. Okay, okay, so my birthday fell on the day after a holiday weekend, which means the post wasn't being delivered, and I guess those extra hours through the wee hours of the morning hardly offer any late buffer for mail either. Nonetheless, I was excited to receive three more cards in the mail today - from the padres, Quel and Boy - and especially since the latter two featured Hello Kitty and Nick Jr's Ni Hao, Kai Lan, complete with stickers! If you're only as old as other people think you are, according to my wonderful siblings, I am about two decades younger than my birth certificate reports.
