R: Such a beautiful day...to spend at work. Well, actually it was voluntary. The Riis held a multicultural event for the QB community, and I went partly because I felt bad for not going to other agency events and partly because I wanted homecooked food from the neighbors. I figured it would be the only opportunity I would have to eat decently in that area.

I ended up staying longer than I had intended because I wanted to see the kids dance. Also, I was tired and didn't really feel like moving (had to get up early). At some point, Al called all the kids up on stage and one little no-neck monster - unfortunate chubster - ran ahead of the pack to get on stage. She was wearing a long horizontal-striped purple glitter sweater and her mom had put her hair in four pigtails on the top of the head, all decorated with big poufy yellow scrunchies. The great thing about little no-neck is that she clearly knew she was all that and a bag of cheesy poofs. While the other kids were breaking, c-walking, crumping and krunking she was doing some combination of interpretive dance and stripper moves. Totally mezmerizing.

The kids' artwork was pretty cool.

C: sunny days
sweeping the clouds away
on my way to where the air is sweet
