R: As another year goes by without health insurance, I am starting to worry that my luck won't hold out. So far I've gotten by with the rare free clinic visit and cheap eye exams through Cohen's Fashion Optical, but I think it's time to feel like a human being on a more regular basis.

This thinking led me to fill out a "yes I'm interested" form at work regarding the possibility of supplementary health insurance through Aflac. Personally, I had no idea Aflac provided health insurance prior to hearing a presentation on it at work, but I thought it might be a good option for me and my pre-existing condition(s). I'm still working on getting a comprehensive healthcare plan, but Aflac might be just the thing to cover the parts of me that most other companies see as too high of a risk.

Thanks to the little box I checked, Aflac came to visit me. That is two large men - one white and one black - wearing trenchcoats pulled up chairs to my desk and had a serious discussion. To a casual onlooker, they could have been the feds...or the mafia? Anyway, they sat down, told me in plain language what my options are and then promised to visit me again real soon (promise came with several knowing winks). I'm starting to wonder what I'm buying into here.

C: I met up with some Wellesley/ZA friends at Cactus Club tonight. It is amazing how many times you can go to a place without seeing something there. I happened to look up at the ceiling and realized that it was covered in varying sizes of canvases, with clouds painted on them. Nothing M would appreciate, but interesting enough if only because none of us had ever noticed them up there despite having gone to that bar/restaurant on numerous occasions. So random.

On an unrelated note...Maligayang Kaarawan sa'yo, Papa Garza. Mahal na mahal kita!
