R: Probably one of the most annoying things about being five foot nothing is the fact that for simple tasks like changing burnt out lightbulbs I'm dependent on the less vertically challenged. It's bad enough that I need a foot stool to reach past the first cabinet shelf, but I've been cooking in the dark for weeks now thanks to the odd schedule of the handyman in my building. It seems every time I remember to call the front desk for help, he's gone home already. To make matters worse, I don't know what kind of lightbulb I need to replace the kitchen light so I would need the handyman on two separate occasions for what should be a five minute task. Luckily, I finally got one of the porters upstairs to take out the old light bulb. So now I just need to go pick up a new one at Home Depot and call downstairs one more time.

I may just invest in some standing lamps.

C: I really loved this three-holiday, three-day weekend. Last year, I got sick right before the Valentine's Day/President's Day extended weekend, and the flu took me under for over a week and a half (and yes, I got my flu shot last year). Fortunately, I was not the victim of the same fate this year and was able to enjoy the much-needed time off and quality time with M too. We have been on a mission to re-discover Boston this year (I guess you could call it a resolution) and have been making a point to venture out more despite the White-Witch Era Narnia cold. We wandered by the Fenway area to see if there were any hidden jewels we managed to miss the past few years. Of course, there is always the legendary Fenway Park, that--I am ashamed to say--I have only been inside once...for a DMB concert. Q's boyfriend, YR, would find this blasphemous, I'm sure.

Walking around the area, I noticed that the little art space there had a new installation, a collaboration between Bodega (an exclusive limited sneaker/clothing store between Back Bay and the South End) and Baileyworks. Apparently they just opened this past Friday. Just when we thought we were running out of things to do, I think I found my diamond in the rough.

Rosama: We've never celebrated Valentine's Day but I guess the hubby was feeling grateful for all the shoveling I've done this week while he is recuperating from surgery because he came home with these beauties and some chocolate on Saturday. Clearly I'm having too much fun with Photoshop but I did want to capture the gorgeousness of the flowers. The daisies in particular were a lovely surprise when they finally perked up this morning.
