R: I agreed to go to a church with a friend mainly because I wanted to see the spectacular views she'd told me about. The church is called - rather ambiguously - The River, and it's located in the Financial District just north of Ground Zero. It's on the 40th floor, and let me tell you - no photo I could ever manage would do the view justice. From the east-facing windows you can see the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge, and even the Williamsburg Bridge plus city hall and a bunch of buildings that are pretty but I can't identify. My attempts to take a picture of the bridges was thwarted by my embarrassment at whipping out a camera, the frames of the windows which blocked a complete landscape view and some people who were standing obnoxiously close to me. So I pointed my camera northward and managed to capture the Empire State and Chrysler building instead. I'm not sure why that funny line showed up though.

C: We went to Le's Vietnamese (Brighton Ave) with M's mom for lunch. Looks like they got in the spirit of Valentine's Day--tiny paper roses topped the straws on our drinks.

Happy Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year. It's the Year of the Tiger, M's animal!
