R: Question: What is the best Christmas gift ever? Answer: Giant spoon and fork. (Apron pictured above is only temporary holding place until I have the time to nail them on the wall properly).

No Filipino home is complete without an oversized set of eating utensils. I'm not sure why pinoys have latched onto this particular domestic kitsch, but there's a 95% chance that if you walk into a pinoy home you'll find a wooden spoon and fork somewhere hanging in the kitchen. I've decided that my lack of said decorations is the reason for my cooking-block, and since receiving this gift from L I've already been much more proactive in the kitchen. Hello green curry chicken, good-bye Easy Mac.

C: Like most days, office conversations rarely begin on one topic and end on the same one. More often than not, these chats devolve into inappropriate banter, at which point we will silently turn around and return to our work. I happened to mention my sister's wedding colors and brought up the idea to ask her to add others for bridesmaid dresses options. One of those suggestions was fuschia, at which point, PelĂș needed clarification. Per usual, he turned to Wikipedia, and also like always, this led to further enlightenment than originally intended. Of course, we had to learn more about the "handkerchief code" referenced in the section...and if you look it up yourself, you get the idea.

Thankfully, working in sexual health leaves room for explaining these things, just in case someone decides to check our browser history...
